Sustainable Development Goals.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030. The 17 SDGs are integrated—that is, they recognise that action in one area will affect outcomes in others, and that development must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability.
Within masimpact, you will be able to select which SDGs your project is pursuing. Since your project may contribute to more than one SDG, the platform allows you to select various SDGs and allocate different weights (%) to each of them. Furthermore, it is important to realise that SDGs per se may seem broadly construed, and this is why masimpact also contains the SDGs respective targets. Alignment with said targets will provide a more in-depth understanding of your social impact generated, as well as help you with refining your sustainability strategy.
London Benchmarking Group.
The London Benchmarking Group (LBG) was formed in 1994 by 6 companies in the United Kingdom (BP, Diageo, IBM, Marks&Spencer, Natwest Group and Whitbread) who worked together to develop a model for managing and communicating their community investment.
The group grew and developed the model as a standard for the management, measurement and communication of Corporate Social Action. Under the leadership of The Corporate Citizenship Company (TCCC), groups of companies were formed which now use the LBG model and are grouped together in LBG International.
The LBG España Group was formed in 2007, with 9 companies (Abertis, Agbar, Barclays, BBVA, Ferrovial, Gas Natural, Iberdrola, Repsol and Telefónica). Currently, the LBG España Group, coordinated by MAS Business, has more than 20 member companies.
ONLBG: broadening the LBG methodology to include Non-profit organisations
In 2014, MAS Business promoted the adaptation of the LBG methodology to several organisations in the third sector, in order to measure the social impact of their projects. A group of 10 non-profit organisations coordinated by MAS Business, have adapted the LBG methodology to measure and manage their social activities as well as the outputs and impacts achieved. This resulted in the creation of the ONLBG model, which facilitates the connection with the LBG model and provides a common language between companies and non-profit organisations.
